Delete Your MunchBloom Account

MunchBloom is intended only for adults who are 18 years of age or older. This page explains how a MunchBloom account holder can request account deletion at https://munchbloom.com/delete-account/.

Request Account Deletion

MunchBloom users can request permanent account deletion by emailing andresmech@gmail.com with the subject "MunchBloom account deletion request." Send the request from the email address used for the MunchBloom account. Do not include a password, one-time code, access token, food photo, or other sensitive content.

Munchbloom must verify that the requester controls the account before acting. Verification may require a response from the account email or use of the app's existing sign-in flow. A deletion request will not be completed based only on an unverified message. Resend, through Supabase Auth, is configured for transactional sign-in email. Email delivery has not yet been tested.

Delete in the App

While signed in, open Profile, select Privacy & data or Manage device session, choose Delete MunchBloom account, review the explanation, and type the required confirmation. For security, the app may require you to sign out and complete the existing email-code sign-in again before deletion.

What Deletion Covers

Account deletion is designed to remove your MunchBloom account and owner-private profile, preferences, discoveries, original food photos, private provisional Food Cartoons, meals, meal nutrition snapshots, FoodDex collection links, and related private workflow state. It also clears the app's local signed-in session and relevant private cached state on the device completing the deletion.

Approved canonical foods, taxonomy, reviewed canonical nutrition, and approved shared Food Cartoon artwork are non-personal shared catalog records. They are not owned by one account and are not removed when an account is deleted.

Retention Limits

Deletion can require durable cleanup, retries, backup expiry, or manual reconciliation. Limited information may be retained when legitimately necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, reliable deletion completion, or an authorized legal hold. Genuinely de-identified catalog or operational records may remain when they can no longer reasonably be linked to the deleted account. MunchBloom does not promise a guaranteed completion time.
